Tamakwa Country Lodge is approximately one and a half hours from Durban International Airport and four hours from Johannesburg. 

Try your hand at tempting the wild brown trout, rainbow or yellow fish on approximately 1 km of the Mooi River on the property. There are numerous other fly-fishing venues nearby. A professional fishing guide can be arranged if required. There are a number of golf courses in close proximity. We are one hour from the historical battlefields of the Zulu and Anglo Boer wars. There is an array of arts and crafts outlets on the nearby Midlands Meander. Excellent restaurants on the doorstep Tamakwa is 50 minutes away from the Giants Castle Drakensberg Park and 20 minutes from the Kamberg reserve. The lodge is in close proximity to a number of private schools There are a number of easy walks on the property and a variety of bird species can be spotted around the lodge.
