Sea Kayaking Safety and requirements

A reputable operator runs sea kayaking trips and exercises excellent safety standards. All guides are qualified both as guides and in advanced first-aid and are experienced. Injuries are very rare.

Variety of trips

Professionally guided sea kayaking routes run in Hout Bay, Cape Town and along the Atlantic Seaboard and offer a breath-taking outlook on the uniqueness of this area.
The Lions Route: Three Anchor Bay to Bakoven via 4th Beach Clifton.
The Seals Route: Hout Bay Beach to Duiker Island via Chapmans Peak and return. A half-day route/tour, is normally around 4.5 hours, would include on average 2.5 hours of active paddling over a distance of around 8km.
Group Out-Paddles: If you don't want to challenge the ocean alone, a trained kayak escort will be your guide and will take you on an Out-paddle for 3 hours. Here you can experience the beauty of the your surroundings without being concerned about your safety or which route to take.
Hire a Sea Kayak: Want to be alone on the ocean. Hire a sea kayak from Hout Bay or Camps Bay beach. You will never quite be on your own as a safety guide will be watching your every move and be on hand to render assistance if needed. No bookings are required for kayak hire and protective clothing is provided.
