Build it and they will come... How I wish that were true. Some of the best sites I have stumbled across on the Internet have been discovered more or less by good luck, rather than good management.

It's like finding a cache of gold. But I am sure that isn't what the webmaster intended it to be. If you are intending to build a site with the purpose of disseminating information to as many people as possible, the quality of information and the "shell" that houses it is only the beginning.
We are in the age of Information Overkill. Once your site is established there are 3 words that need to be at the forefront of your mind:
The "modern" basis of the internet was the exchange of quality information; but I notice as the years go on that webmasters are becoming very competitive. Competition is great as it keeps us on our toes but our community has turned into a battleground - and the average surfer is oblivious to the digital blood being shed. I am hoping that the new generation of web masters will turn the tide, but being a trainer in this area myself, I wonder how much time is devoted to relaying ethics to our new web designers. ....and who am I to say that my ethics should be everyone else's? Another wonderful aspect of the Internet is the diversity of philosophies. This is purely a matter of personal opinion and responsibility. Don't fear the "big guys" - your 4 page site can be hugely successful with the right approach! Your input into the Internet is valued. We need it. But please ensure we can find your rose among the thorns...... More resources about building an internet marketing strategy for tourism services using the internetIf you have any questions about any of this then drop me a mail or give me a ring 036/3523143 and I will see if I can help you. I am not an internet expert or an internet provider rather a tiny guest house owner in the foothills of the Drakensberg. All I can give you is a wealth of information on how to go about promoting your tourism service by building a website yourself affordably.
