Hartbeespoort - South Africa

Hartbeespoort is situated on the southern slopes of the Magaliesberg Mountains overlooking the Hartbeespoort Dam and beyond towards Pelindaba. The dam is fed by the Crocodile River. The Magaliesberg Cableway gives you access to the highest peaks with a breath taking view of the area. Hartbeespoort is not far from either Pretoria or Johannesburg. Tan' Malie Se Winkel (Aunt Malie's Shop) is quite unique and serves traditional Afrikaans home-cooked meals.

The area also has a Snake and Animal Park, an Aquarium with fresh and marine animals and plenty of arts and crafts shops all over.

The name means "bird's head", but can also mean "cock head"; Africa's only gay resort where clothing "is optional" and not encouraged from what we hear; self catering, near nature reserve, catered weekends; 10 wooden, 6 caravans, full weekends see up to 100 people; bar and restaurant facilities, pool; privately owned 68 hectares with koppies in the Pilanesberg, near the game reserve, 67kms from Sun City - take Makolokwe turn off, then road to cemetary, then turn left at pink triangle.
