What could
your Drakensberg tour include?
Bushman
rock art can be seen at many sites in the Drakensberg and with the
assistance of a qualified guide you will be astounded. Tours to the top
of the Drakensberg escarpment too like at the Sentinel where you arrive
at the source of the Tugela falls a spectacular waterfall falling some
950m.
Then there are horse trails, 4x4 trails,
mountain
bike trails, trout fishing, quad
bike trails, wild flower tours, cultural
experiences, abseiling, golf, rock climbing and much much more.

Tour Operators
- Amakhulu
Central Reservations - Drakensberg Tour experts Tours in the
Drakensberg offer just so much that its best for you to mail Merle with dates and requirements and let
her help you plan your perfect Drakensberg vacation. Their advice does
not cost anything and I certainly can recommend their service. The following Drakensberg tour companies which
can be reserved online offer with perhaps a
slightly different palate of the Drakensberg but please compare tour prices.
Its seldome that Amakuhlu does not have a better offer.

- Drakensberg
Adventure operated by Southern Circle Tours and Safaris ( Overland
Safari )
The Drakensberg is the country's grandest
mountain range and at its highest where it runs through
KwaZulu-Natal. The name literally means 'Dragon' and it is derived
from the breathtaking high jagged basalt cliffs bearing a
similarity to the back of a dragon. The local Zulu people call it
the 'UKhahlamba' (Barrier of the Spears). In this tour we blend
the sights of the mountain with a game park to see some of the
wild animals found here when wildlife still roamed freely in the
area. The tour is also designed for the person who wants the
opportunity to explore the mountain on foot. We visit a cave with
some of the best preserved ancient rock art in the country. We
take leisurely walks around the Sentinel area and enjoy
breathtaking views into the Amphitheatre. For those very energetic
souls, a stiff walk and 100 meter chain ladder leads to the top of
the mountain where you can watch the kilometer long Tugela Falls
plummeting over basalt cliffs.
