The Cintsa AreaCintsa East is reached by road or micro-light aircraft only. From East London it takes between 30 and 40 minutes. With unspoilt sandy beaches and a variety of fauna and flora, this eastern coast forest reserve provides a refuge from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. The beach area from Cintsa West to Cape Henderson, including Cintsa East, is regarded by conservationists as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Cycads are indigenous to this part of the Eastern Cape but you will not see them at Cintsa since they prefer the craggy steep river banks along the Cintsa River. Highlights of CintsaThe Cintsa area offers a variety of recreational activities. An abundance of bird life including sea, estuary and river birds as well as inland species may be seen. Within a ten minute drive the rolling savannah of Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve offers sights of rhino, giraffe, zebra and a variety of buck on guided tours in an open vehicle. When sun tanning, bathing, body surfing and beach games have been exhausted a canoe ride up river at high tide provides a pleasant alternative. Walkers can reach Cefani Mouth or Cintsa West with ease. Fishing off the rocks is also popular. For an alternative getaway, Cintsa caters for all and provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
