The fifth generation of the originally Scots Sinclairs now live on Broad Moor Farm. The farm was purchased in 1885 and the main house, was begun in 1895, and completed during the Boer War in 1900. Today, this historic Farm is a dairy as well as a renowned cheese factory. A self catering, lakeside cottage offers the lucky few, big-sky vistas of the distant Drakensberg and waterside living at its most picture-book perfect. Nearby streams and the extensive lake are alive with wild trout, both Rainbow and Brown, hungry and big, waiting impatiently for a well-presented fly. The Broad Moor Guest House is set in a very attractive landscaped garden with extensive lawns, mature trees and shrubs. A wooden sundeck leads into a central lounge with a large Jetmaster fireplace. The dining room also features a fireplace. A comfortable pub is situated between the two. The pub has a TV to watch exciting games of rugby and cricket. Two double en-suite bedrooms have private lounges (one with fire place), Another two double en-suite bedrooms lead off from the central lounge. Rooms have been refurbished to the original standard with the old traditional thick walls, wooden floors, skirting, and high wooden ceilings from the end of the 18th century. Non-fishermen enjoy the rustic delights of bird-watching, boating, cycling and biking. The world-renowned Giants Castle Game Reserve is close by as well as the Crane Foundations breeding ground of Blue, Wattled and Crested Cranes.
