The Berg House has an open plan lounge fully equipped kitchen area, 2 bathrooms, a large logfire place, with wood provided. The Cottage is serviced daily. The kitchen is fully equipped with electrical appliances. Braai area next to cottage. Clear views of the Amphitheatre, focal point, & surrounding escarpment. This cottage is situated on a 700ha property. Trout fishing on 7km`s of river frontage on numerous activities offered. A campsite is situated along a stream & near a 150m cascade, no electricity. Hot & cold water is provided. Cater up to 8 people.

The berg House and Cottages is located 34km`s from Bergville, on the R74, off the Oliviershoek Pass. From Harrismith. 44km`s, take the N5 left on R712, left again on the R74, 3km`s past Little Switzerland Hotel. 21km`s from the Royal Natal National Park. 3 Hours from Johannesburg and Durban.

The Accommodation at Berg House and Cottages

Self Catering:
Comfortable, rustic, stone and thatch dwellings. All with electricity, both cottages sleep 8 people. Both consist of 4 bedrooms each, 2 double-bed bedrooms, 2 single-bed bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and toilets in each. All linen is provided, including cutlery and crockery. An open plan lounge and kitchen area, with an oven, stove and fridges. Log fire places, and a braai/barbeque facility. Both have patio furniture.

Bed & Breakfast:
Comfortable thatch cottage, en-suite, private unit, sleeps 2 people. Consists of: fridge, kettle, condiments are provided. Dinner available on request.

Activities include: hiking, horse riding (night riding), fishing, fourwheel drive routes, mountain bike trails, bird watching, paraglide and hanglide take off site, river swim, tube and canoe, night drives with spot light or enjoy the lavender experience.

All the above activities can be enjoyed on site.

Off the property activities include: golf. game view and houseboat trip, Sterkfontein dam activites, restaurants, pubs, Pizza tower, Hydro electric station and various historical routes.
